REEDLEY – It’s that time of the year where Reedley’s winning businesses, organizations and community members are getting their moment to shine — and this year, they can do while looking “Pretty in Pink.”
In an announcement on Feb. 2, the Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce announced the 2026 Business & Community Awards recipients, honoring the people, businesses, and organizations that help make Reedley a strong, vibrant and connected community.
“The Business & Community Awards are not a competition,” stated the announcement. “Instead, they are designed to intentionally highlight individuals and organizations whose leadership, service and commitment positively impact Reedley. Many of these honorees work behind the scenes, strengthening our community through dedication, integrity and care for others.”
For businesses, Youngstown Grape Distributors secured the honor of being named the Large Business of the Year. Mineral King Publishing’s own Mid Valley Times newspaper was named Medium Business of the Year, and the Small Business of the Year nomination was bestowed on Reedley’s River City Theatre Company.
Reedley’s Citizen of the Year is Mark Luzania, D.D.S., while the town’s Junior Citizen of the Year is Kitzaly Sanchez-Villa. Being inducted into the Reedley Hall of Fame this year is Dale Melville, and the Community Hero of the Year has gone to Miriam Aleman.
The recipient of the Sierra Kings Community Health Champion Award is Kathy Omachi, and Entrepreneur of the Year has been awarded to Vincent Martin of Martin Energy Inc.
As for the Reedley Beautification Award, that honor has gone to Kings Canyon Unified School District and the Central Valley Teen Challenge was the recipient of the Spirit of Reedley Award.
This year’s recipients will be honored at the 2026 Business & Community Awards Gala, themed “Pretty in Pink,” taking place on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Reedley Community Center. The evening will bring together business leaders, community partners and residents for a night of celebration, connection and appreciation.
The Awards Gala will feature a social mixer, dinner, awards presentation and live entertainment, all centered around celebrating the people and organizations that help Reedley thrive. Tables and individual tickets are available for purchase through the Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce office.
Attendees are encouraged to wear something 1980s inspired, and — of course — pink.
