BAKERSFIELD – Omni Family Health has announced the 2025 scholarship recipients as well as the inaugural Omni Family Health Employee Family Scholarship, granting a total of $20,000 to students with aspirations of working in healthcare-related fields.
Twenty high school seniors each received $1,000 to aid in their higher education, including 15 students from local communities and five who are children of Omni Family Health (OFH) employees. Since the start of the program, OFH has now granted $224,000 to 224 deserving students.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to this year’s graduating seniors,” said Francisco L. Castillon, chief executive officer. “These students have demonstrated remarkable dedication, academic excellence and a passion for healthcare.”
To be eligible for the community scholarship, students must have resided in or graduated from a school within OFH’s service area. Recipients must express a strong interest in pursuing a career in healthcare, maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher and obtain a letter of recommendation from someone familiar with the program.

- Kaycie Huffman of Reedley Middle College High School
- Steven Antonio Sanchez-Barrera of Sanger West High School
- Jillian Fifield of El Diamante High School
- Kevin Sanchez and Parjot Sodhi of Ridgeview High School
- Inaya Gill, Mark Mikhail, Daniel Yuan, Ashley Wilson, Jagriti Jha and Zachary Garewal of Stockdale High School
- Eliana Garcia of East Bakersfield High School
- Madison Ma of Bakersfield Christian High School
- Emma Wong and Hayden Gehring of Liberty High School
To be eligible for the family scholarship, recipients must be an immediate family member of an OFH employee, express a strong interest in pursuing a career in healthcare and maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher. A letter of recommendation from someone familiar with the program is also required.

- Japleen Bindra and Darsev Singh of Stockdale High School
- Jasleene Zuniga of North High School
Scholarship applications are rigorously reviewed by the Omni Scholarship Committee, chaired by board member Susan Watkins. Candidates are chosen based on merit and potential, with final recommendations made by the Omni board of directors.
“At Omni Family Health, we believe that investing in our students is an investment in the health and well-being of our communities,” said Watkins. “It was a true privilege to help identify such promising students, and we look forward to seeing the impact they will make in the years to come.”
OFH has over 40 sites throughout Kern, Kings, Tulare and Fresno counties. They serve nearly 150,000 patients each year, with a team made up of board-certified providers covering a variety of primary and secondary care services.
