DINUBA – Families preparing for the new school year can pencil into their calendars a free resource fair presented by the Tulare County Department of Child Support Services and Valley Strong Credit Union.
From 5 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 19, community members can head over the Wilson Elementary School in Dinuba for free backpacks and school supplies. The Back-to-School Bash at Wilson Elementary promises free materials to students while supplies last, connections to a variety of free resources and refreshments and snacks for those who attend.
“This community event, held in partnership with Dinuba (Unified) School District, is designed to support local students and families by providing essential supplies for the new school year,” a press release from Tulare County said.
In addition to supplies for students, families can meet with representatives from Project Food Box, which sends nutritious food to qualifying Medi-Cal recipients, Valley Strong Credit Union, United Way of Tulare County, the University of California Cooperative Extension, Dutch Brothers and the Dinuba Community Center. Also present will be Tulare County Family Services, Tulare County Department of Child Support Services and Campesinas Unidas del Valle de San Joaquin.
