FRESNO – The Center for Irrigation Technology at California State University Fresno is inviting farmers from around the Valley to see new advances in agriculture technology and water management systems.

The ninth annual AgTech Day is set for Oct. 31 and will bring together growers, researchers and industry partners for a day of learning and networking on the Fresno State campus and at the university’s field sites. Co-hosted by the Center for Irrigation Technology (CIT) and the Water, Energy and Technology (WET) Center, the event will feature new ag tech focused on water and irrigation management.

According to Fresno State, AgTech Day is “designed to showcase the latest advances in ag technology, water and energy management systems and emerging solutions for California agriculture.”

Kicking off the AgTech Day agenda is a welcome message from College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Dean Rolston St. Hilaire. Field site demonstrations will follow and include a look at the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) and how growers can adapt, sprayer drones and the most up-to-date aerial application technology and  irrigation management using center pivots.

The second half of AgTech Day will feature a trade show and free lunch at the WET Center. This year’s AgTech Day is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 31. The event is free and open to the public, and those interested can register at agtechday.org.
