REEDLEY – An early morning crash involving a car and Kings Canyon Unified School District bus occurred the morning of Aug. 16 north of Reedley.

The crash occurred around 7:15 a.m. just north of the entrance to Great Western Elementary School at South Frankwood and East American avenues. There were no injuries to any children, but the car driver was transported from the scene with undisclosed injuries.

Reports say the car was driving south on Frankwood Avenue and struck the KCUSD bus toward the right rear of the vehicle as the bus crossed west along American Avenue, preparing to turn into the school from the north. The car sustained front end damage and the bus had a dent on the right side.

Reedley police initially responded to the scene, and the California Highway Patrol took over the investigation.
