Quilt Festival comes to Reedley College

Kings River Quilt Guild hosts 34rd bi-annual event, featuring 120 members displaying their artistic talents at the college cafeteria

REEDLEY – More than 260 quilts will be on display at Reedley College later this month when the Kings River Quilt Guild hosts its 23rd bi-annual quilt festival event.

The event takes place Saturday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. at the college cafeteria on campus. The guild is composed of 120 members displaying their artistic talents with their respective quit pieces.

Reedley’s Pat Robertson is this year’s featured artist. She is a longtime quilter, designer and teacher of the craft in the region. Among the works she will have on display are “Northern Lights”, “Meadowlands” and “Log Cabin Maze.”

The Kings River Quilt Guild has promoted a number of quilt festivals in the past, including shows at Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church. The guild’s mission is to promote and educate the public in the art of quilting.

Admission to the event is $10 per person. The public is invited.
