REEDLEY – There were more treats than tricks up and down G Street in Reedley on Tuesday afternoon as the city’s littlest residents celebrated Halloween.

Put on by the Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Reedley Trick or Treat on G event brought hundreds of children and their families to business doors from 3-5 p.m. Oct. 31 for friendly and safe trick-or-treating. Kids donned classic costumes like superhero masks, princess dresses and Pikachu face paint while taking part in this hallowed tradition.

“In a small town like this, when there’s anything happening, we’re just excited to show up for it,” said Brooke, who did not provide a last name.

Lily Perez came to the downtown event with her young son, Mateo, to celebrate his first Halloween. She said her favorite part about the holiday is seeing everyone’s different costumes.

Costume highlights, as seen by the Mid Valley Times staff: Pippi Longstocking, a police officer and their prisoner, Belle from “Beauty and the Beast,” blow-up dinosaurs and Russell, the junior wilderness explorer from the movie “Up.”
