PARLIER – In the spirit of giving, Espinoza Brothers Enterprises partnered with UHC Parlier Health (UHC) to spread warmth and seasonal cheer by donating 100 turkey dinners to families in need.
The meals, valued at $100, included a turkey and all the fixings. The meals were distributed on Nov. 17 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.at the UCH Health Center on Manning Avenue in Parlier. UHC also delivered meals to families who were unable to attend the giveaway.
Edward Espinoza owns the company with his brother, Robert. The Espinoza family still lives in Parlier. There are five brothers, all involved with the company. The Fresno-based company was founded by the brothers’ father and two uncles.
“They started the food distribution business in the 1980s,” said Edward. Over the years, the company has donated to various charities, including Poverello House. Edward said donating to charity helps preserve the legacy of his father and uncles.
“We’ve been blessed to be able to do it,” he said.
Edward said the company enjoys a strong relationship with UHC. The two companies have partnered in various charity giveaways over the years. He said UHC came up with the idea for the turkey giveaway this year. He said the company plans to continue its involvement in charitable activities.
“This motivates us to want to give back,” he said.
Last July, Robert Espinoza donated over $5,000 in fruit and drinks to support the UHC Foundation Summer Fun Run at Woodward Park in Fresno, where more than 600 runners participated in the UHC Family Centered 5K Fun Run and 2 Mile Walk.
