Dinuba accident leaves bicyclist in critical condition

Dinuba police say they do not suspect drugs or alcohol are involved in a collision between a vehicle and bicyclist

DINUBA – A bicyclist is in critical condition at a local hospital after a collision with a vehicle along East El Monte Way on Monday afternoon. 

The Dinuba Police Department said officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:40 p.m. on March 18, where they found a bicyclist being treated by Emergency Medical Services. The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. 

Dinuba police officers do not suspect that drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision, which occurred in the 400 block of East El Monte Way, just east of the Dinuba City Hall. 

A press release from the police department said the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing. No details about how the collision occurred have been released at this time. 

The identity of the bicyclist is also not available at this time.

DPD is asking for anyone who witnessed or may have information about the incident to contact the police department at 559-591-5911 or at 559-591-8471 to remain anonymous.
