Reedley Fiesta King and Queen nominations open

REEDLEY – As Reedley residents eagerly wait for cooler temperatures this fall, it’s also time for them to think about all the “cool” people in their life who they feel deserve city-wide recognition. 

The Reedley Lions Club opened up nominations for the Reedley Fiesta King and Queen, beginning the annual search for those who will reign over the parade and embody the spirit of the community. Nominees should be residents who have lived in the Reedley area for at least the last 15 years and be active in civic and community affairs; the Reedley Lion’s Club will select the winners this year. 

Nominations must be submitted using the official application no later than 5 p.m. Aug. 29. The form is available at the Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce office in downtown Reedley or on the chamber’s website under the “events” page. Submissions will be accepted in person at the chamber office or via email at marketing@reedleychamber.com. 

On the application, which must be filled out following the directions provided, the nominator should list five points as to why the nominees are deserving of the recognition. The nominator should also know how long the nominees have been active in the community, any awards or honors they have received and their place of employment or business affiliation. 

The Fiesta King and Queen will receive their crowns at Pioneer Park on Oct. 11. The duties of the Fiesta King and Queen include promoting the event, serving as an ambassador to the city of Reedley and riding in the parade, according to the Reedley Lions Club.
