VISALIA – A man has been arrested by Visalia officers in connection to a shooting that occurred in 2023 and resulted in the death of Isaak Sedillo.
Sedillo was found by Visalia police after responding to reports of gunshots in the 2900 block of South Fulgham Street on March 13, 2023. Sedillo was transported to the hospital but succumbed to his wounds. He had been shot multiple times while riding in a car. Investigators identified a 15-year-old suspect who was taken into custody on May 4, 2023. Police believed a second individual was also involved in the shooting death.
On Dec. 19, 2024, Visalia police arrested Jorge Aroz, 20, who is suspected of being the second gunman involved in the crime. Aroz was booked on charges of homicide, conspiracy to commit homicide and resisting arrest.
If convicted, Aroz could face life in prison without the chance of parole. The other individual who was 15 at the time the crime was committed cannot be tried as an adult in California. He faces incarceration up to the age of 25.
Sedillo was just 20 at the time of his killing. He attended Mission Oak High School where he graduated in 2020. After high school, Sedillo earned a certificate for HVAC, plumbing and electrical repair according to an obituary.
“Isaak was very smart,” his family wrote on his obituary. “He loved to do carpentry, play video games, basketball, paintball and liked to cook meals with his mom. He also enjoyed listening to music and loved animals. Most of all, he loved his pet tarantula, Kehlani. Isaak was a loving, funny, caring person that always thought of others before himself. His infectious laugh made people laugh with him and always brought a smile to everyone’s face.”
