KINGSBURG – Homicide detectives from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office (FSO) are investigating the death of a Kingsburg man who was shot.
The Kingsburg Police Department said officers responded to a call about an injured person at a residence in the 2300 block of Orange Street in Kingsburg just before 3 a.m. on Jan. 25. There, officers found a man, 20, who sustained a gunshot wound. The man was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with help from the Kingsburg Fire Department, and later died at the hospital from his injuries.
According to a press release, KPD conducted interviews at the residence and as of Jan. 25, the shooting incident appeared to be accidental. KPD requested assistance from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, which took over the investigation.
“At this time, detectives will be conducting further interviews to get more information of what occurred prior to the shooting,” the press release said.
