REEDLEY – Reedley residents who need to visit the local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office and want to do so without traveling 30 miles out of town will have to do so this week, or wait until the end of the month.

The DMV announced its Reedley field office, located at 558 E. Dinuba Ave., will close at noon on Feb. 7 to allow for the move to its new building about a mile down the road. The new location at 1890 E. Dinuba Ave. — which is three times the size at 13,205 square feet — will open at 9 a.m. on Feb. 26.

“This will allow the DMV to better serve the community by doubling the number of service windows and developing the space to better meet current and projected needs,” the DMV previously said in a statement to the Mid Valley Times.

In the meantime, residents are encouraged to utilize online services provided by the DMV before heading into an office. Other field offices in the area are at least 27 miles from the current Reedley office and include the Fresno office at 655 W. Olive Ave., the North Fresno office at 6420 N. Blackstone Ave., the Clovis office at 2103 Shaw Ave., the Hanford office at 701 W. Hanford Armona Road and the Visalia office at 1711 E. Main St.
