VISALIA – Those in need of spine surgery are in good hands at Kaweah Health Medical Center.
On Feb. 4, Kaweah Health celebrated their placement in America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery by Healthgrades, a U.S. company that provides information about physicians, hospitals and healthcare providers. Kaweah Health is one of 21 hospitals in the state of California to be recognized.
“Our goal at Kaweah Health is to provide world-class care,” said Mike Olmos, Kaweah Health Board of Directors President via press release. “This recognition shows not only that we can do it, but that we are doing it.”
The celebration saw California Assemblymember Alexandra Macedo and the Tulare County Board of Supervisors giving proclamations recognizing Kaweah Health’s spine care teams.
The hospital performs around 500 spine procedures each year with help from board-certified and spine fellowship-trained Dr. Mathias Daniels, in addition to neurosurgeons from Center Neurorestoration Associates.
Spine Surgery is one of 11 “Specialty Excellence” lists, which even further narrows recipients based on the quality of specialty treatments, and analysis and selection is done solely by Healthgrades. There is no opting in or out, and hospitals cannot submit their own data.
According to the Healthgrades website, hospitals chosen for America’s Best Hospitals “consistently exhibit exceptional, comprehensive quality care.”
