FRESNO COUNTY – Now that the 2025 softball season has come to a close, it’s time for the Tri-County Conference to recognize the best of the best in the Sequoia Division in The Mid Valley Times region. And several of this season’s honorees definitely soared like eagles.
Immanuel High flew above the highest peaks as seven players were recognized for their excellence on the diamond. And it’s only fitting that the Eagles’ were led by the eventual Coach of the Year, Ryan Wood.
Under Wood’s leadership, the Eagles finished with a 17-6-2 season overall, including a perfect 8-0 record to claim the TCC title outright. Immanuel made an appearance in the CIF Central Section Softball Playoffs for the third consecutive season, eventually falling 3-1 to Bakersfield in the first round. In three seasons with Wood at the helm, the Eagles have compiled a 49-21-2 record.
Senior pitcher Amanda Herrera was a true ace in the circle for the Eagles this season. For her standout season, Herrera was named the Player of the Year. Herrera won 16 of Immanuel’s games this season; and her two no-hitters against Firebaugh and Madera South were just a small sliver of a dominant pie. Herrera also amassed an amazing 166 K’s in just 144.1 innings pitched.
Natalia Delgadillo took home Offensive Player of the Year honors. In her junior season, Delgadillo drove in 25 runs and also batted an astonishing .516. Delgadillo also was responsible for scoring 38 runs.
Junior first baseman Addison Efrid was the only player on the Eagles roster to earn First Team Honors. Efrid raked this season, clubbing 3 home runs and collecting 17 hits. And when Efrid played in the field, she picked out the ground balls to a .989 Fielding Percentage (FP).
Abigail and Ellyann Thomas kept the honors in the family as both sisters shared Second Team Honors. Abigail was quite the sniper behind home plate, throwing out would-be base runners to a .185 Caught Stealing (CS) percentage. As for Ellyann, she ranked 10th in the TCC with a .356 average, and she stole 7 bases, scoring 24 runs.
In keeping with the family theme, Addison’s sister, Camdyn, also secured Second Team Honors. Efrid, a sophomore second baseman, finished with a .917 FP and scored 18 runs. Efrid also batted a solid .286.
In rounding out the Immanuel honors, sophomore outfielder Emma Watson grabbed Honorable Mention for her reliable hitting. Watson finished with 11 RBIs, a .378 On Base Percentage (OBP) and slugged .323
