FRESNO COUNTY – After coming across an unusual instance in his community and catching it on video, Fresno County Supervisor Luis Chavez has gone viral.
Chavez was walking precincts in his district when he noticed a palm tree branch floating almost motionless in the air. After recording the phenomenon on his phone and posting to social media, the video absolutely took off.
The footage sparked interest in paranormal enthusiasts and worldwide viewers, garnering more than 38 million views and landing a feature on the Travel Channel’s “Paranormal Caught on Camera.”

“This was an unexpected opportunity to share a unique part of Fresno’s story with the world,” Chavez said. “But more importantly, I’m grateful it allowed me to give back to our community and help ensure families have access to food and resources.”
Rather than taking the payment for the footage’s use on TV, Chavez donated the proceeds to the Central California Food Bank.
The original video can be found pinned on Chavez’s Instagram profile, and the TV episode it was featured on can be found online.
