SELMA – If you think your BBQ skills and ribs are the best in town, then the Selma District Chamber of Commerce wants to help you prove it.
The 5th annual BBQ Cookoff is set for Saturday, Sept. 20 in downtown Selma. The chamber of commerce is calling all local backyard chefs, pitmasters and BBQ fanatics to compete for a chance to win amazing prizes, bragging rights and of course, the ultimate prize, the People’s Choice Award.
However, the deadline is approaching. All who are interested must submit the applications no later than Sept. 2.
In Selma, this year’s BBQ cookoff promises an abundance of smokey goodness and community fun, with tastings being open to the public from approximately 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Selma Street. All competitors will get the chance to showcase their traditional BBQ style while the crowd of Selma locals votes for their favorite chef.
All competitors and teams must sign up now by visiting www.selma-chamber.com and clicking the BBQ link located on the homepage. Spots are limited and going fast. Late entries will not be accepted, so early registration is highly encouraged.
