REEDLEY – With tax season in full swing, residents of Reedley have a new option to get their finances in order.
On Jan. 26, local leaders and chamber of commerce representatives gathered at 1570 Manning Ave. to cut the ribbon for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service. Following the warm welcome, the staff of this new location will be getting to work immediately to help the community of Reedley with its tax-related needs.
“We feel very supported by the community of Reedley,” said Trisha Pires, Fresno Area District Manager for Jackson Hewitt. “They’ve given us nothing but support, helping with the breakdown and everything.”
Pires shared that Jackson Hewitt has around 30 locations between Atwater and Porterville, and said that the company’s mission is to make taxes simple for customers while helping them understand why they may owe or are being refunded. People can go in to learn more about their taxes free of charge, and can then choose if they’d like to move forward and file.
Nivek Goss, assistant district manager of the Fresno area, noted that new customers will receive special pricing at $149. Customers can already begin filing their taxes for the year, and can even ask questions about previous years’ filings to make sure they were done correctly.
“We take walk-ins and appointments; we’re always here and available,” Goss said.
