DINUBA – Local superheroes descended on Felix Delgado Park in Dinuba to teach children and parents about raising safe, healthy families.
More than a dozen organizations from around Dinuba and Tulare County joined Parenting Network Dinuba Family Resource Center for its Annual Child Abuse Prevention Event on April 3. In recognition of April as Child Abuse Awareness Month, the event centered around connecting families to the resources available to them.
“We hope that families come here and they get the resources they need and make sure they’re aware of what we have available here so that they can go home and if they need any help or they see something, they report it,” Dinuba Program Manager Denise Pedregon said.
Organizations promoting their services included the Tulare County Resource Family Center, California Rural Legal Assistance, Sequoia Community Corps, Valley Health Team, Proteus, Altura Center for Health and more.
Every child who attended received an Easter bag and Easter eggs from each booth, and families that visited each vendor had the chance to win prizes.
In the spirit of the event theme, “calling all superheroes,” staff from Parenting Network put on a special presentation, shouting out superheroes like “Grand Master Mom,” whose super power is connecting family with love and support, and “Parental Resilience,” whose superpower is teaching others how to grow in all types of weather
