REEDLEY – Reedley community members can get the birthday party started early for Independence Day this year alongside the Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber of commerce is hosting the Reedley Independence Day Event: Celebrate America starting at 6 p.m. July 2. From Pioneer Park, residents can partake in the festivities with a variety of food vendors, craft and retail spots, community booths and train rides for all ages.
Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Erik Valencia said in a press release that this year’s celebration is especially meaningful as the country marks its 250th anniversary.
“Celebrate America is an opportunity to gather as a community, support local businesses and enjoy an evening that reflects the pride and spirit of Reedley,” Valencia said.
In addition to the activities supported by the chamber, attendees will be treated to an aerial fireworks display presented by the city of Reedley.
Fireworks are scheduled to begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. The press release noted that the Reedley High School campus will be closed to the public and not accessible for fireworks viewing.
“As communities across the nation commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Celebrate America provides an opportunity for families, friends and neighbors to come together for an evening of community, patriotism and summer fun,” the press release said.
The event is made possible through a partnership between the chamber of commerce, the city of Reedley, local businesses, volunteers, community organizations and event sponsors “who work together to create a memorable Independence Day experience for the community,” according to the press release.
