Tulare County top 10 fugitive arrested

Sheriff’s office captures Luis Lomeli of Orosi following execution of a warrant, multi-block chase

TULARE COUNTY – The efforts of the public have proved to help the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, which recently tracked down a most wanted fugitive in the county.

With the assistance of information from the public, detectives with the Sheriff’s Street Crimes Unit were able to track down Top 10 Fugitive Luis Lomeli, execute a search warrant and take him into custody following a multi-block chase on Friday, Jan. 12.

According to reports, Lomeli, 19,was wanted for a felony domestic violence warrant and for a short pursuit with TCSO during which he dumped a loaded gun.

During the search, detectives found three guns, including a short-barreled style assault rifle. Detectives also found drugs for sale, including fentanyl. Lomeli was arrested at the home that was searched, along with five other adults.
