Kingsburg man dies in motorcycle accident

Motorist succumbs to critical injuries after crashing motorcycle in rural Fresno County

KINGSBURG – A fatal traffic collision occurred in rural Fresno County after a motorist lost control of their motorcycle and struck the roadway, prompting an investigation into the incident’s circumstances.

On Feb. 24, at approximately 6:55 p.m., the Fresno Area California Highway Patrol (CHP) Communications Center received a call of a traffic collision resulting in injury located on Mountain View Avenue and DeWolf Avenue in rural Fresno County. 

Officers from the Fresno Area CHP and emergency personnel responded to the scene. The initial investigation determined a 55-year-old male, a Kingsburg resident, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle, eastbound on Mountain View Avenue. The driver failed to maintain control of his motorcycle, allowing it to strike the roadway.

The rider was then ejected from the motorcycle resulting in critical injuries. Emergency medical personnel arrived on scene and attempted lifesaving measures on the rider. Despite all attempts, the rider was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

As of report, it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs are a factor in this crash pending toxicology results.
