TCSO apprehends Cutler robbery suspect

Investigation into liquor store robbery leads to the arrest of a man in Cutler

CUTLER – Within the last week, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office responded to a robbery at Cutler Liquor Store, initiating an investigation that culminated in the arrest of suspect Ojani Ortiz.

Just before 9:30 p.m. on April 23, deputies with TCSO responded to a robbery in Cutler at the Cutler Liquor Store, located in the 40300 block of Road 128.

Upon arrival, deputies learned a man walked into the store and pulled out a handgun. The suspect ran from the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

As of the latest report from April 26, the suspect was identified as Ortiz during the investigation. Ortiz was tracked down at a home in Cutler and taken into custody on April 25. He was in possession of a gun and property that was stolen from the store.
