TULARE COUNTY – The suspect who was responsible for opening fire on a small group of people at the Orosi Sports Complex earlier this October has been apprehended.
Just before 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 10, deputies were called to the Orosi Sports Complex in the 41000 block of Road 128 for a shooting. When they arrived, deputies learned four people were walking in the play area of the sports complex. They heard gunshots, and then realized three of them had been hit.
All three victims, including a woman who was eight-months pregnant, were taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
On Oct. 17, detectives identified and arrested Mario De La Cruz, 18, for the shooting. In addition, De La Cruz was also arrested for a separate shooting that occurred on Oct. 16. Anyone with further information is asked to contact the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office at 559-733-6218.
Oct. 20
Just after 12 a.m., deputies were called to the 11100 Block of Ave 424 in Orosi for an assault. When they arrived, they learned two men arrived at the home together and then got into a fight. One man then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the torso and the head.Â
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he is in critical, but stable condition. The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Oct. 19
Just after 10 a.m., deputies were called to a grand theft of trailers and grape picking equipment on Ave 360 East of Road 52 in Traver that occurred sometime between Oct. 17 and Oct. 19.
Deputies learned the suspects got access to the grape vineyard and drove away with both trailers that were staged for pick up from the freshly-picked vineyard. On Saturday, Oct. 19, the victim arrived to remove trailers and noticed them missing.
