KINGSBURG – The Kingsburg Police Department announced an arrest of a man suspected of engaging in sex acts against children.Â
With the help of the Fresno County Adult Compliance Team, Kingsburg police arrested Uriel Rios, 25, on March 27 after a brief investigation indicated that he was the suspect behind a series of incidents involving forced sex acts against children.
According to Kingsburg PD, the investigation began on March 25 when police became aware of reports that a man had been soliciting minors for sex. Rios was identified as the suspect during the investigation.Â
Investigators believe Rios began messaging a minor several years ago when she was 14 years old. It is believed that briefly after contacting the minor female, Rios picked her up and committed sex acts with her. The crimes were not reported to law enforcement. It is not clear whether it was an isolated incident or if the abuse continued.Â
Investigators know that recently, Rios began communicating with the minor again. A surveillance team was assembled at the location Rios had designated to meet the teenager and he was taken into custody. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on numerous felony charges.Â
Investigators believe Rios also forced other minor children to commit sex acts. At least one victim has been identified and investigators believe there could be others. Police are asking that anyone who has information about crimes committed against minors or who had been contacted by Rios contact law enforcement. Rios is from Selma but most recently lived in Visalia.Â
The investigation into his crimes continues and is being assisted by the Central Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
