Estella Alonzo of Sanger, died on Oct. 15, 2023. She was 73 years old. A chapel service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Wallin’s Sanger Funeral Home. Wallin’s Sanger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bennie D. Blagg

Bennie D. Blagg, 89, passed away peacefully on Oct. 17, 2023, in Fresno, California.

Born on Oct. 21, 1933, in Cordell, Oklahoma, Bennie was a humble and kind man with a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bennie had a love for knowledge and current events, which led him to read the newspaper daily, staying informed about both local and worldwide news. He also found joy in tending to his yard and garden, taking long walks, and reading the Bible every day. Bennie cherished the time spent with his longtime neighbors and friends in Sanger, and he relished the opportunity to make new friends when he moved to The Vineyards-Californian Armenian Home later in life.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Garry Blagg and family, Cheryl Jones and family, Lorri Hackler and family, Diane Jacobus and family, and David Jacobus and family. Bennie is also survived by his sister-in-law, Colleen Blagg, and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Gisell Blagg, and his three siblings, Billy Blagg, Larry Blagg, and Ramona Jacobus.

After graduating from Sanger High School, Bennie embarked on a successful career at United Grocers, where he dedicated many years of his life.

A graveside service is planned to honor Bennie’s life on Nov. 2, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Sanger Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Wallin Funeral Home, located in Sanger, Calif.

James Michael Bridge

James Michael Bridge of Reedley, died on Oct. 14, 2023. He was 73 years old. Mr. Bridge was a correctional officer. Services are pending. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Bridge, one daughter and one granddaughter. Dopkins Funeral Chapel Dinuba is in charge of arrangements.

Ramona Curiel Chavez

Ramona Curiel Chavez of Dinuba, Calif. died at home on Oct. 8, 2023. She was 95 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents Eduardo and Gabriela Curiel. Her husband, Gilbert B Chavez; her son in law, Cesar Mendoza and her siblings and spouses: Juan & (Cruz) Curiel, Mercedes & (Luis) Aviles, Guadalupe & (Antonio) Diaz, Mary Lou & (Ramon) Carrillo, Clarence & (Antonia) Curiel, Jessie & (Benny) Vega, Queenie & (Gilbert) Ramoz.

She is survived by her children Yolanda Mendoza, Margaret & (Joseph) Arroyo, Tille & (Jesse) Hernandez, Gilbert & (Gloria) Chavez, Eddie & (Alicia Romo) Chavez, and Michael & (Minnie) Chavez.

She has 23 grandkids, 28 great-grandkids, one great-great-grandson and many nephews and nieces. She loved her family and they loved her.

Ramona’s services will be held Monday, Oct. 30 at Living Word Fellowship at 10 a.m. Interment immediately following at Smith Mountain Cemetery.

Gary R. Eggert

Gary R. Eggert of Sanger, died on Oct. 20, 2023. He was 85 years old. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Wallin’s Sanger Funeral Home. A graveside service will on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Redbank Cemetery. Wallin’s Sanger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley Hughey

Shirley Hughey of Fresno, died on Oct. 19, 2023. She was 88 years old. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023 from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. at the Fowler Baptist Church. Wallin’s Fowler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Roberto Sanchez

Roberto Sanchez of Riverdale, died on Oct. 21, 2023. He was 53 years old. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a Rosary said at 12 p.m. at Wallin’s Riverdale Funeral Home. Bonnie June Schultz of Riverdale, died on Oct. 20, 2023. She was 81 years old. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023 from 9 to 9:30 a.m., Rosary said at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Riverdale. John F. Torres

John F. Torres of Orosi, died on Oct. 20, 2023. He was 90 years old. Mr. Torres was a farm laborer. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Apostolic Church in Dinuba followed by a graveside service at Smith Mountain Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Torres, five sons, four daughters, one brother, one sister, 26 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Sterling & Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
