Albert B. Adame 

Albert B. Adame, of Parlier, died on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. He was 72 years old. He was a forklift driver. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Wallin’s Parlier Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary said at 6 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 10 a.m., followed by burial at Parlier Cemetery. Wallin’s Parlier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Tommy P. Albin

Tommy P. Albin, of Fresno, died on Monday, June 17, 2024. He was 82 years old. Mr. Albin was a farmer. There will be a celebration of life and a luncheon at the Sanger Eagles Hall, 225 J St. in Sanger on Saturday, August 3, 2024, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Wallin’s Sanger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kristy Lea Gregory 

Kristy Lea Gregory, of Sanger, died on Friday, July 5, 2024. She was 46 years old. The family is entrusting the care of their loved one to Sunset Funeral Services.

Rosemary Hernandez 

Rosemary Hernandez, of Sanger, died on Sunday, June 23, 2024. She was 72 years old. Mrs. Hernandez was a packer. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a Rosary said at 10:45 a.m., and a funeral Mass at 11:15 a.m. at St. Isidore Farmer Church in Orange Cove. Interment will be at Smith Mountain Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, five brothers, eight sisters and seven grandchildren. Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

James Walter Krause 

James Walter Krause, of Reedley, died on Sunday, June 16, 2024. He was 76 years old. Mr. Krause was an agricultural consultant and an artist. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the First Mennonite Church in Reedley at 11 a.m. Lunch will follow.

Dennis Lozano

Dennis Lozano, of Reedley, died on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He was 72 years old. Mr. Lozano was a machine operator. A memorial Rosary and Mass will take place on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 9 a.m. at the Old St. Anthony’s Church in Reedley. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lozano, one brother, five sisters and two grandchildren. Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Angel Reyes

Angel Reyes, of Dinuba, died on Saturday, June 29, 2024. He was 25 years old. Mr. Reyes was a forklift driver. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Dopkins Dinuba Funeral Chapel. A funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine Catholic church followed by interment at Smith Mountain Cemetery. He is survived by his father, Jesse Reyes, his mother Myra Ramos, one sister, two brothers, his grandmother, three aunts and one uncle. Dopkins Dinuba Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Sylvia Rosalie Rivera

Sylvia Rosalie Rivera, of Reedley, died on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. She was 74 years old. Mrs. Rivera was a teacher’s aide. Services will be held at a later date. Wallin’s Sanger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce Warkentin

Joyce Irene Warkentin passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024, in Reedley, Calif., at the age of 97. She was born on Nov. 16, 1926, in Newton, Kansas, the first child of Harry and Linda Schroeder. Joyce dedicated much of her life to serving her church, her family, and her community through her work and in service to others. 

Joyce Irene Warkentin
1926–2024

Joyce was a long-time resident of Dinuba, Calif. and Kingsburg, Calif.. She served as the school secretary and office manager for Immanuel High School in Reedley from 1966 until her retirement in 1989. In retirement, she served first as a volunteer office administrator at Happy Days School in Kingsburg, then in the book department of the Nearly New Shop in Reedley, and finally in several volunteer service roles as a resident of Palm Village in Reedley. 

A person of deep faith, Joyce was a member of Hope Kingsburg Church. Throughout her life, she shared her musical gifts through singing and playing the accordion and piano in church and chapel services. Joyce enjoyed quilling and led a group in which she read inspirational biographies to blind residents at Palm Village. She was also honored by the American Red Cross as a lifetime 10-gallon blood donor. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Warkentin, her brother, Harold Schroeder, and her sister, Mary Eytzen. She is survived by her children, Marvin Warkentin, Marilyn Niles, Carol Applegate and Don Warkentin; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. 

Joyce was grateful for the staff employees and the care professionals at Palm Village where she lived for the last 24 years of her life. She frequently expressed gratitude for her caregivers and demonstrated her appreciation for all they did for her, especially as she neared her life’s end. Joyce’s family shares her gratitude for the staff and for the care she received. 

A memorial service for Joyce will be held at the Palm Village Chapel in Reedley on July 18, 2024, at 10 a.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers any gifts be made to the Palm Village Living Trust. Joyce’s life was marked by her faith, and daily she asked herself: “How can I best be of service to others?” She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
