Local baseball players named in WYL All League

Tulare County baseball players earn the West Yosemite League All League honors for their play this past spring; Tulare Western, Tulare Union, Mission Oak and Dinuba had players named to the teams

TULARE COUNTY – With the high school baseball season now over, the West Yosemite League has released its All League teams to honor its best players this past spring. On the teams, Tulare County was represented by players from the Tulare Western, Tulare Union, Mission Oak and Dinuba baseball programs. 

Tulare Western was well represented on the WYL All League First Team after finishing second in the league with an 11-4 league record and a 15-15 overall record. Justin Cuellar had a strong season for the Mustangs as he was named the WYL MVP for this past season. 

Fellow Mustang and catcher Blake Crawford made the WYL All League First Team while pitcher/infielder William Masterson joined him on the team. On the WYL All League Second Team, the Mustangs were further represented by infielder Chi’el Sanchez and pitcher/outfielder/infielder Easton King. Fellow Mustangs and outfielders Trey Garrison and Landon Peredo were named WYL All League Honorable Mention for their play this past spring. 

After going 15-15 this season and reaching the Central Valley semifinals, the Mission Oak Hawks were well represented in the WYL All League selections. Pitcher/infielder Gage Hastin was named WYL All League First team while pitcher/first baseman Korey Barham and pitcher/infidler Kannon Silva both earned WYL All League Second Team honors. 

The Dinuba Emperors also had several players earn WYL All League honors. Pitcher/utility Anthony Pompa and third baseman Paul Huerta represented Dinuba on the WYL All League First Team while catcher Noah Gonzalez and pitcher Austin Kelly were named WYL All League Second Team. 

Despite a last-place finish in the WYL, the Tulare Union Tribe had several members make the WYL All League teams. On the first team, pitcher/outfielder Adam Sims represented the Tribe. On the second team, the Tribe were represented by outfielder Jacob Price and pitcher/infielder Eathyn Matthews.
