REEDLEY — Reedley High’s football and boys soccer teams have opened summer session practices and conditioning drills as the respective teams look to defend Tri-County Conference championships in the 2024-25 school year.

The Pirates football team used a strong late-season run to earn a share of the TCC Sequoia Division crown with a 3-1 record, rebounding from a 0-6 start to qualify for the Central Section playoffs. Reedley will be led by junior quarterback Will Bacon, who rushed for 892 yards and 12 touchdowns while throwing for an additional 955 yards and 11 TDs.

Also beginning summer workouts for an upcoming winter season of competition were the Reedley High boys and girls soccer teams. The Pirates will try to replace key graduated standouts Jose Magallon (also the 2024 RHS Male Athlete of the Year), Esteban Baca, Alessandro Lopez and Eduardo Vasquez off last year’s TCC Sequoia Division champions.

The Reedley High girls return their top two scorers from last year’s third place TCC finisher: Juniors Kim Garcia (29 goals) and Real Morales (11 goals). The Pirates knocked off Pioneer Valley in a shootout before falling to Bishop Union in the section  Division IV playoffs
