GIRLS SOCCER: Reedley, Selma teams net All-League honors

FRESNO COUNTY – With another exciting girls soccer season officially in the books, the Tri-County Conference (TCC) handed down awards and honors to some of the best players in the Sequoia and Kings Divisions for this past season. 

The Reedley girls reveled in joy as head coach Itzcalli Pizano was named the Coach of the Year and Kim Garcia strolled off with the Offensive Player of the Year. Overall, the Pirates blew the awards competition out of the water as they had a combined eight players awarded with First and Second Team honors. 

Under Pizano, the Lady Pirates won their first league title since the 2018-19 season by finishing 5-1-2. As a team, Reedley coasted their way to 59 goals and 145 points while averaging an impressive 2.4 goals per match and 5.8 points per match. Advancing to the playoffs for the third consecutive season under Pizano, Reedley lost 2-1 to Righetti in the opening round of the D-II playoffs. 

Garcia was the captain of the Lady Pirates’ attack this past season. The junior striker and literal team captain led Reedley with 24 goals, 60 points and 12 assists. 

Garcia’s teammates, Arianna Zarate, team co-captain Sienna Ramos, Real Morales and Kendra Escobedo earned First Team honors for their fantastic play. And Selma was well-represented on the first team as Merlina Gutierrez, Destiny Rivera and Victoria Matlak shared the same honors. 

Reedley, Selma and Immanuel had two players each make their way onto the Second Team honors. Ashley Gonzalez and Cienna Ledesma shared the honors for the Lady Pirates. Aneka Zamora and Lacy Vasquez represented Selma and the Eagles’ Mia Carrillo and Ashlyn Lloyd soared with pride in sharing their honors. 

In the Kings Division, the Kingsburg Vikings had a rather disappointing season at 7-11-5, while finishing 3-1-4 in league play. And an opening round 4-0 loss to Justin Garza in the opening round of the 2025 Central Section Playoffs officially put an end to their season. 

Despite their lackluster season, Kingsburg’s Jayden Rios’s stellar play on defense earned her the Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Rios harassed her opponents enough all season to slide away with 30 steals in her senior and final year. 

The Vikings managed to bring home a few more awards as Maddie Essegian and Parker Woods garnered First Team honors. Essegian led the team with 49 steals and Woods led the team in goals (9) and points (21). Teammates Isabella Ramirez Felix and Khloe Orosco rounded out the honors by sharing Second Team honors.
